What DeadByAI collects and why

You can try a scan or create a starter plan without registering. An email account lets you return to your workspace and receive reminders you choose. This page explains how those features use your information.

Last updated September 9, 2026

Information you provide

  • Your platform profile, descriptions of your work and constraints, generated plans, task notes, coaching messages, and reminder preferences. Relevant answers and recent progress are sent to OpenAI to generate your plan and coaching responses. Do not include confidential employer information, client records, or other people’s personal details.
  • Email addresses submitted to unlock sample reports, the selected sample, and the time and wording version of your follow-up consent. We use these to provide sample access and follow up about samples and career reports. You can opt out by replying or emailing reports@deadbyai.com.
  • Job searches, occupation selections, experience band, career goal, and priority-task choices used to create a scan or paid report.
  • The email address and payment details entered at Stripe Checkout. DeadByAI does not receive or store your full card number.
  • Feedback, ratings, and an optional reply email if you use the feedback tool.
  • Messages and transaction details you send to support.

Information collected through the site

The onboarding and dashboard workspace exclude advertising analytics and session recording. Your draft questionnaire is kept in your browser until submitted. A private session cookie lets the server retrieve your saved workspace; each session expires 30 days after it is created. Signing in by email works with a single-use link that expires after 15 minutes. A new sign-in creates a new session.

DeadByAI records product events such as landing-page views, searches, result views, plan selections, checkout starts, completed purchases, report readiness, and downloads. Those events can include an anonymous funnel identifier, campaign parameters, referring host, occupation, report tier, and limited browser or request information.

First-party cookies and browser session storage keep a visit linked to its original campaign. When configured, Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel may also set or read their own identifiers. Browser settings can limit cookies, although some attribution and analytics may then be incomplete.

How the information is used

  • create personal action plans, save progress, answer coaching questions, and deliver reminders you enable;
  • generate and display job-risk scans;
  • create, store, deliver, and support paid reports;
  • process payments and reconcile purchase records;
  • measure campaign and funnel performance;
  • diagnose failures, prevent abuse, and improve the product; and
  • respond to support, privacy, and feedback requests.

Service providers

DeadByAI uses service providers only for product operations. They can include Stripe for checkout and payment processing; Amazon Web Services for hosting, private report storage, purchase records, and email delivery; OpenAI for personal plans, coaching, and AI-assisted report drafting when that generation path is enabled; Google Analytics and HeyCatch for public-site measurement; and Meta Pixel and Conversions API for advertising attribution. Their handling of information is also governed by their own terms and privacy practices.

DeadByAI does not sell customer contact details. Advertising identifiers and conversion events may be shared with Meta or Google when their measurement tools are enabled.

Retention and security

Your workspace keeps your current plan and a rolling history of up to 12 previous plans and 40 recent coaching messages, subject to storage limits. A guest workspace expires 30 days after its last saved change. Once you verify your email, your account workspace is retained until you delete it; an expired session does not delete your account.

You can download your workspace data or delete it from the dashboard. Successful deletion removes the saved workspace and its email-to-account link, so existing sessions can no longer open it. Other session records, used sign-in links, security limits, and reminder delivery records expire separately. Expired records cannot authorize access, but physical removal from storage may happen later. Account deletion does not remove purchase records needed to fulfill earlier report orders or records required for payment, security, or legal purposes.

Weekly reminders contain a link to your dashboard rather than details about your work.

Sample access uses a private browser cookie that expires after 30 days. Sample lead records are stored privately in AWS and retained for follow-up until you opt out or request deletion. We send two follow-up emails with scan links and report prices. Each includes an unsubscribe link. We retain a minimal suppression record to honor opt-outs across repeat sample requests.

DeadByAI's first-party launch analytics are configured to expire after 90 days. Purchase, payment-reference, support, and report records may be kept longer when needed for delivery, fraud prevention, accounting, dispute handling, or legal obligations. Paid reports are stored privately and download access uses a purchase-specific token. Download access lasts 90 days after report completion, or 180 days for the Career Strategy Blueprint.

No online service can promise absolute security. DeadByAI limits report access, does not request a resume or employer name during the standard checkout flow, and does not store full card numbers.

Your choices and questions

You can ask what support or purchase information is associated with your email, request a correction, or request deletion where the record is not required for payment, security, or legal purposes. Email reports@deadbyai.com and include enough purchase detail to verify the request. Never send full card details or passwords.
